If you're planning to study abroad, the SAT, GRE, or GMAT could be your gateway. But when should you start preparing? The answer depends on the exam and your academic stage — but starting early always pays off.
If you’re in high school and planning to apply to
undergraduate programs, start preparing for the SAT by Grade 10 or early in
Grade 11. This gives you enough time to strengthen reading, math, and grammar
skills and retake the test if needed by Grade 12.
The GRE is for those pursuing Master’s programs. Begin
preparation about 6–9 months before application deadlines, ideally in your
final undergraduate year. Since it tests reasoning, vocabulary, and analytical
writing, you’ll need time to build these gradually.
Planning for an MBA or management degree? Start GMAT prep 8–12
months ahead of application deadlines. The GMAT focuses heavily on logic, time
management, and decision-making, so spaced-out prep is more effective than
last-minute study.
Whether you're aiming for undergrad or grad school, giving
yourself a 6–12 month head start allows time for concept building, mock tests,
and retakes if needed. Early planning boosts your confidence — and your score.
At RTCD, we guide students with tailored prep strategies for
each exam to align with both academic goals and university timelines.
