What should you expect from a good education?

An ideal education should prepare you for Global Careers. Choice of career should be based on what you want to do or your interest, NOT what is available or in demand. For E.g. a student who failed to secure admission in IIT for computer science secured admission to the computer science program in CMU (Carnegie Melon University)one of the top 20 with comparative ease.

Despite this, there are close to 200,000 Indian students going abroad for education every year, of which more than 150,000 travel to India every year, due to lack of correct information.

RTCD consultants help plan the careers of over 175 students every year, most of them for Bachelor’s (Undergraduate) level Studies. More than 70% of our students are from families with average or sometimes below average financial means.

Selecting is perhaps the most time-consuming and important process. IMPORTANT: There is often a difference between popular perception and reality, so going by what most people say is good for someone else may not be the best option for you. The best university for you may not be the famous ones, but those that offer your specialized field of study as well as meet the other criteria important to you. The range of academic options as well as available universities is so wide that it is not possible to select the best one for you instantaneously and it may take some time. The basic steps involved in the process of selecting universities are:

  1. Deciding on the field of education in line with your interests and past academic background.
  2. Assessing your financial capacity and budget.
  3. Selecting universities based on the following criterion:
    • Program Offerings
    • Research programs
    • University Rankings
    • Program Length
    • Cost of Tuition, living expenses, etc.
    • Availability of Financial Assistance to International Students
    • Entrance Requirements
